Get your skincare regime ready for winter!

It's an interesting observation that in my business so many women know a lot about makeup but when it comes to healthy skin, how to get it and how to keep it things get a little vague!

It goes without saying that, no matter our age, we all want to look healthy and glowing.  Of course, makeup helps to lift the image and it certainly gives us all a little extra dose of confidence but skin health?

  •  Are you doing what you can?

  • Are you just plain confused about the plethora of products?

  • Are you using too much product?

  • Or worse - not enough?

When it comes to skincare, I’m looking for amazing products that enhance my natural look — with the benefit of healthy skin and a good regime it's entirely possible.

As we approach winter now is as good a time as any to have a review of what product works for you and what products you can toss.

You're more likely to get away with reasonably healthy skin in the summer months but now with the onset of being inside with central heating at home, to being cold on the way to work and then more central heating, it's more important than ever to stay hydrated.

So here's the skincare regime I use in the colder months:

Out with the cleansing cloths for a more gentle cleanser that boosts moisture as well as cleans. Royalty Moisture Boosting Gentle Cleanser is a unique blend of oils that gives your skin the moisture it craves while special vitamins and plant extracts clean skin and help reduce the appearance of age spots. I always use a clean face cloth and warm (never hot) water to cleanse.

At this time of year I also cut down on using anything too harsh like a scrub on my skin.  But I do recommend a brightening mask once a week, the peel off mask is a great way to relax as well since you should wear it for 15 minutes.  It then peels off without any abrasion needed, such as a charcoal mask which I only use as needed.

After cleansing or using a mask use a spritz of rosewater to calm your skin in readiness for serum and moisturizer.

Apply serum to your face, using as many drops as you need to feel that your face is completely covered with the silky-smooth serum formulated with squalane, CoQ10, and vitamins C and E. The luxurious oil soaks into your skin without leaving an oily residue and helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Then apply your daily moisturizer over the serum. I use Hydrating Day Cream since it has an SPF of 20, with vitamins C and E, and plant extracts.

The night regime is the same except for using Time Correcting Night Cream which has Activen XEP, a nature-inspired complex of amino acids, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains a stable derivative of vitamin A provides the benefits of retinol without the irritation, improving skin hydration while I sleep. With the addition of a complex of plankton extract, baobab (bay-o-bab) oil, and vitamins A and E reduce free radical damage. Whey protein helps improve the appearance of skin firmness.

And finally the addition of Vitamin D and lots of water will get you through the winter months with a healthy glow! We’re lucky enough to be in Spain so we get our sunshine quota but those more northerly might consider a trip to the health food store for a good and effective vitamin D supplement.
